Welcome to Third Grade STEAM! I am so excited to begin another fabulous year here at Lincoln School, and I am really looking forward to getting to know all about you. Let me tell you a little about me…
I’ve been teaching since 1994. This is my 18th year in District 41 and my tenth year here at Lincoln. I’ve had many different jobs in schools - math specialist, instructional technology coordinator, gifted teacher, and all levels of elementary classrooms - but my absolute favorite job is teaching third graders. You guys are at a very special age.
My home is on the west end of St. Charles, so I have a little commute every day. I live with my husband and my two kids: Charlie is 11 years old, and Grace is 13. Grace just started playing the ukelele this summer, likes to play volleyball, ride horses, and sing (but not all at the same time). Charlie plays pretty much any/every sport, and is really into Legos, cars, and video games. My husband’s a lawyer with an office in Warrenville. We also have a cute black lab in our family named Shadow. He’s 3 years old and full of energy!
Our classroom theme is Sports, and we will be integrating that theme into some big ideas like GROWTH MINDSET, TEAMWORK, PERSEVERENCE, and INTEGRITY. I am thrilled to be a part of your third grade year, and look forward to working together to create an environment that will encourage thinking, problem solving, and enthusiasm for learning!
